Opel Astra 2.0 CDTI with EcoFLEX Package

The Astra 2.0 CDTI 160HP has been added to the Opel Astra’s European lineup and comes equipped the ecoFLEX package, which includes Start/Stop functionality. Already available for the Astra 1.3 CDTI, the package is offered as an optional extra for the 2.0-liter diesel hatchback and Sports Tourer models in combination with the six-speed manual transmission.

Opel Astra Turbo EDS 360HP

EDS tuner house from Germany has launched an impressive package for the most powerful version of the Astra with the 180HP 1.6-liter turbocharged engine.

The comprehensive engine tune includes a variety of modifications such as a new Garret GT28 turbocharger, ECU optimization, sports exhaust system, a new manifold, and other goodies that double the 1.6-liter unit’s output to a whopping 360-horses and 480 Nm or 354 lb-ft of peak torque.

Opel Ampera EV Police Cruiser

Opel is already exploring the possibility of a police package for its electric vehicle. According to the company, the Ampera could be the perfect police car for urban use.

Like the Volt, Opel’s version of the car can be driven in pure electric mode for 40-80 km before the petrol engine kicks in to produce electricity and / or motivate the front driving wheels pushing the total driving range to over 500 km. The Ampera completes the standard sprint in 9 seconds while reaching a top speed of 160 km/h.

2012 Opel Zafira

The test mule of the next generation Zafira minivan was caught in testing on public roads. The new seven-seat minivan is expected to grow in dimensions offering improved passenger and luggage space. Unlike the latest Meriva that boasts a pair of suicide doors, the new Zafira will continue to use conventional rear doors.

The pictures suggest that the minivan takes styling cues from both the Insignia and new Astra, including the wing-shaped head lamps.

Vauxhall Announces 20% Discounts on Most New Models

Vauxhall, GM’s British division, has announced a 20 per cent discount on most of its new models. Vauxhall offer is called “Vauxhall Countdown” and it is available on new cars purchased from December 27, 2010.

Vauxhall did not release a full price list, but has announced some examples. With the 20 per cent discount, the on-the-road price of an Astra 1.4. Exclusive tumbles by more than £3,190, while savings on the Agila range start from £1890.

2011 Vauxhall Antara Facelift Priced

British Vauxhall has released pricing and specifications on the UK Antara facelift. Prices for the updated Antara SUV start from £19,995 for the 2.2 CDTi Exclusiv front-wheel drive model, which represents a saving of £2,835 over the outgoing base version.

Opel Insignia Sports Tourer is Polizei now

The Opel Insignia Sports Tourer has been recruited for duty by the Polizei force of the German State of Hesse. The authorities announced that they have ordered a total of 800 patrol cars, with the first 100 examples to be delivered this year.

2011 Opel Corsa Facelift

The 2011 / 2012 Opel Corsa facelift has been revealed today. The new Corsa gots a sharper face with chiseled headlamps, a new grille and a restyled front bumper featuring a wider and taller lower grille, plus different foglamp housings. The facelifted Corsa got six new alloy wheel designs and a larger, redesigned Opel Blitz on the tailgate.

2011 Opel Antara Facelift

The Opel (known as Vauxhall in UK) Antara has received a mid-life makeup. It hasn’t been a great facelift, just minor tweaks to keep the Opel’s crossover looking up to date in a line-up of newer Opel products such as the Meriva, Astra and Insignia.

For the 2011MY, the Opel Antara gets a new front grille with a less prominent logo and redesigned front bumper with new fog lights and lower grille styling, plus modified rear light clusters and optional 19-inch light-metal wheels. Interior changes come in the form of a new center console with extra storage solutions, new materials and added color options.

Opel Astra Irmscher Sport Tourer

Irmscher, the German tuning house, has now upgraded the Opel Astra Sport Tourer variant. Irmscher starts by upgrading the station wagon’s looks with the addition of a front spoiler, new upper and lower grilles in a honeycomb design, side skirts and a roof spoiler.
